PARCO NAZIONALE D'ABRUZZO

The National Park of Abruzzo is basically made up of a mountain chain system, whose altitude range varies from 900 mt to 2200 mt above sea level. The mountains in the park represent a colourful landscape rich in rounded peaks typical of the Appennini, as well as rocky slopes with a more alpine shape.

ROCCARASO

Roccaraso lies in the heart of the biggest Mediterranean ski district, the Alto Sangro district with 160 km of downhill ski runs and 36 ski lifts facilities. Many are the winter sport contests every year, also of international interest. In March 2005 Roccaraso hosted both male and female finals of the European cup, and is candidate to become the seat of the World cup contest.

CASTEL DI SANGRO
The town lies on the borders of a wide valley, on the right bank of a torrential river: the Sangro river. Worth a visit in Castel di Sangro are: the basilica of St. Maria Assunta, the civic Museum, the Aufidena museum, la Civita. Castel di Sangro is the commercial centre of the area, as well as an active tourism centre thanks to the closeness to the ski resorts of Roccaraso and Rivisondoli.
